For his 11th birthday, instead of gifts Matthew Farden started a Go Fund Me campaign to donate to The Happy Herd. Matthew hoped to raise $1,000 to support the sanctuary. By asking friends and family to make a small donation, this generous and selfless act by our regular volunteer has raised over $13,000!
Matthew’s kind birthday wish has been picked up by local papers, as well as CTV news. If you’d like to view the CTV story, click here.
After seeing the story on the news, mister Blake of the mister Blake foundation reached out to make a large unexpected donation of $5,000. He came to tour the farm with Matthew and after a long visit and tour, mister Blake donated an additional $5,000 to help us finish the new barn!
The Happy Herd is very grateful to have the support of all the donors from Matthew’s Go Fund Me campaign, along with the generosity from mister Blake and the mister Blake foundation. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and continues to contribute their time and donate towards our farm sanctuary to make better lives for the animals that live here.
